Megan McCune has lived in seven cities across three countries, bringing a global perspective to her work in education. Originally from Buffalo, New York, she now resides in Kyle, Texas, where she teaches middle school newcomer students in Hays CISD.
Megan’s passion for teaching English as a Second Language began during her five years teaching English in South Korea—an experience that continues to shape her approach to supporting multilingual learners. In addition to her classroom experience, Megan has written curriculum for large school districts and specializes in internalizing high-quality instructional materials through the Seidlitz framework. She is also a fellow in the TEA Teacher Leadership Fellowship, where she has worked with the state to provide feedback on programs through the lens of an ESL educator. Megan has presented locally on best practices for supporting multilingual learners and advocating for equitable educational opportunities.
She was recently recognized as a finalist for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards. Megan believes that every child deserves access to a high-quality education with an accomplished teacher and is passionate about bringing that vision to life through her work with Seidlitz Education.
